My Dad is my best friend, he really is. I honestly could not ask for a better male role model – he's bloody brilliant! I think I am able to appreciate him even more now as an adult, looking back to when I was younger and there was a lot going on for us all, making things tricky at times.
When I was younger, I'm not sure I really appreciated how adults are humans too and they don't have all the answers...we're all just figuring it out as we go along, doing our best for our families.
I've grown up knowing that I can speak to my Dad about absolutely anything, judgement-free and I know that mum would be so glad we have such a great dad/daughter bond. I know I am very lucky to have that, and that not everyone does.
